I delivered a talk at the ACTACC 20204 meeting in Cardiff with my friend and colleague Nish Sall.
We used Slido and interaction with the crowd of cardiothoracic anaesthetists/Intensivists, to scope opinions on practice when our patients suffer from Fast arrhythmias. There was a particular focus on new-onset AF.
AOP Health sponsored the session – their drug Landiolol being part of the debate:

There has been a lot of work on this to standardise our approach to it. However, the consensus in the critically ill is certainly lacking.
Research into the area has inbuilt flaws galore. Trials suffer from noise, confounders, and heterogeneity by the tonne.
Many opinion pieces/articles and meta-analyses exist, but few decent RCTs.
